Kinghorn Community Land Association is proud to announce that The Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery at Kinghorn Loch will open in Autumn 2025 for full burials and ash burials. We are currently finalising our agreement with Fife Council for burials and record keeping.
An eco cemetery, or natural burial ground, aims to minimise the environmental impact of burials.
Burial plots at the Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery cannot normally be reserved for people still living, in order to ensure that spaces are available when they are needed. However, for the opening of the cemetery, KCLA is offering a limited number of plots for advance reservation. Bookings open at 10am on Friday 20th June and close at 5pm on Friday 18th July 2025. After this time, plots can only be purchased when they are needed for a burial.
Reservations for 10 burial plots and 10 ash plots will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Reduced rates are available for those resident in Kinghorn, or with strong links to the town. All enquiries will receive a response; successful applicants will be sent a copy of our policies and asked to confirm within ten days. After confirming, you will receive an invoice, which is due for payment within two weeks. After completing payment, you will receive a certificate confirming your reservation. Reservations also include registration in our records, to ensure that the plot will be available when it is needed.
More information on the Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery, including our policies for burials, can be found on our website: kcla.org.uk.
The fees for plots are:
- Single burial plot: £1400 (£1200 for Kinghorn community)
- Double burial plot: £2150 (£1950 for Kinghorn community)
- Ash burial plot (for up to three ash caskets): £402 (£345 for Kinghorn community)
Please note that these fees cover the plot reservation only; burial costs and marker stones are not included.
If you are interested in booking a plot, please use our contact page, mentioning which type of plot you are interested in.
